After graduating from the University of Akron, Mike began his career teaching general science and health science in the public schools. In 1985, he made a career shift into medical sales, joining the prescription drug division of Proctor and Gamble. He later joined Johnson and Johnson promoting both capital equipment and disposable instrumentation for surgery. At Ethicon Endo-Surgery he served as a field sales trainer until 2002, when he moved to Tissue Link Medical, a start-up company that was later purchased by Medtronic. Mike finished his corporate career as a Regional Manager for American Medical Systems, where he led a surgical sales force that covered thirteen states. Following his departure, he formed the healthcare consulting company, ProjectPoint Solutions in 2011. In this role, he assisted several companies with salesforce organization and training, national contract management, business development and clinical consulting in the operating room. This consulting role led to a position at Austen BioInnovation Institute as the Director of Sales. Today, Mike serves medical industry by providing independent sales and marketing services. By applying the sales and marketing skills acquired during his tenure with worldwide healthcare organizations, he assists newly formed and established companies enter the healthcare space. He specializes in strategic healthcare sales, product launch management and salesforce development. Mike resides with his wife Martha in Fairlawn, Ohio. He has two married children and five grandchildren. In their spare time, Mike and Martha hike, bike and kayak the National Parks and spend part of the year working from their home in Southwest Florida.
