My 28 year career in sales and marketing continues to impress upon me regularly just how vital good, thoughtful listening skills are. I carry those skills into my Mentoring for SCORE plus a deep understanding of the various channels through which products or services can be presented or sold to the end consumer, which small business owners may be considering to expand their 'reach' or to enable their success without selling or hiring a sales team. Partnering with distribution organizations, manufacturer's reps or with synergistic businesses (you scratch my back I'll send YOU business too) can relieve many of the challenges of scale (via THEIR sales channels) that business founders grapple with, and I look forward to leading SCORE clients in that discussion where applicable. Of course, other Sales and Marketing topics can be discussed as well because regardless of the channel (direct or through others), sales tactics, pricing, training, prospecting and closing all share the same ethic.
