OCONOMOWOC - CJ's Premium Spices, LLC,  is a national winner in the Specialty Food Association's 2017 sofi Awards national competition.

CJ's Premium Spices, a family owned, organic spice-blend company based in Oconomowoc, was recognized with a bronze award in the Salsa/Dips Category for CJ's Premium Dill Dip Mix.

The company, owned by Laura and Alan Swan, competed with 3,000 products to win.

"It's an incredible honor to be presented with a sofi award for one of our signature products," said Alan and Laura Swan of CJ's Premium Spices in a statement. "We are entrepreneurs who have been able to grow and prosper thanks to the mentors at SCORE Southeast Wisconsin who've guided our small business. With them and this honor, we have the potential to take our products to the next level."

CJ's Dill Dip Mix was one of more than 150 winners chosen by a national panel of specialty food experts in more than three dozen categories. Entries were judged by industry professionals including chefs, culinary experts, academics, food writers, and category buyers. Products were considered based on taste, flavor, appearance, texture and aroma, as well as ingredient quality. All tastings conducted were blind.
